Tina

Tina has been an OT clinician for over 37 years working with patients from all age groups with a wide range of diagnoses in most types of rehab settings.  She moved to the U.S. Virgin Islands in 2001 and worked for the USVI Government on St. Thomas for 12 years in the public school system and community hospital.  She retired from public service and went into private practice establishing Virgin Islands Occupational Therapy, LLC in 2012. Tina is extremely happy to maintain a small niche practice providing highly individualized treatment and using the most current, evidence-based practice methods in the most comfortable and supportive rehabilitation setting possible.

Tina is a recognized authority in her field on functional cognitive disability and has presented at numerous national OT conferences and workshops.  She has several publications including the widely-used OT textbook, “Occupational Therapy Treatment Goals for the Physically and Cognitively Disabled”  (co-authored with Claudia Allen and Catherine Earhart).  Tina invented a patented versatile orthotic device trademarked as the “WrapAdapt” for a variety of wrist and ankle impairments. It is exclusively manufactured and distributed by the Benik Corporation and is available online at www.benik.com. Tina also develops professional products to evaluate persons with cognitive impairments for S&S Worldwide. In 2011, Tina served on the USVI Government’s Consent Decree subcommittee for developing residential rehab services for citizens with chronic mental illness.  She served on the Board of Directors for the Caribbean Islands Education Foundation Inc. affiliated with Rare Earth Studios.  Tina volunteered in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake providing rehab services at the Haitian Community Hospital. In her spare time Tina enjoys puttering, reading, daydreaming, playing with her Shih Tzu, Buster, and planning for distant travel to exotic places with filmmaker husband Stephen Blue.
